whose primary purpose is to serve the employment needs of
individuals facing mental health issues.

which are responsive to individual needs.

Management
STRIDE
is committed to creating opportunities for people facing
mental health issues to gain meaningful employment. Families,
doctors, mental health professionals, and community partners
may refer individuals, or we accept self-referrals.
It
has been estimated that eighty-five percent of people
experiencing mental health issues are unemployed. Experience
has shown that for many of these people, their lives can
be transformed by something most of us take for granted
- a job. STRIDE recognizes that employment and earning
power contribute significantly to a person's sense of
dignity, independence and quality of life.
Studies
report that ‘work’ is a leading component
in promoting positive mental health and leads to a more
fulfilling life in the community. Employment increases
the level of independence and speeds the recovery of individuals
we serve. STRIDE provides a variety of meaningful work
opportunities which form an integral component of the
overall rehabilitation process.
